1-ON-1 COACHING
True North Group Executive Coaching
OUR FOUNDATION
Our work is grounded in the belief that individuals have a great capacity
for growth and that there are skills that can be developed to that end.
Our approach is based in research and best practices in business and
adult learning theory. Using the conceptual framework of emotional intelligence,
we establish a collaborative relationship with each client, be it individual,
team or organization, to craft a plan of action that harnesses the strengths
of individuals to achieve professional excellence.
OUR CLIENTS
Typically, our clients are experienced executives who are
ready for challenge and desire to improve their performance. They may
be new managers and leaders who are developing new skills and competencies.
They may be people in transition who understand the need for support
and assistance as they maneuver new territory and desire to make changes
in their professional lives. They can be highly regarded employees whose
performance is not matching the high potential and expectation of their
organizations.
OUR PROCESS
Assessment
- An initial interview is conducted to consider goals,
working styles, logistics, and provide an introduction to coaching.
- When
indicated a 360 degree feedback or other assessment instruments are
administered.
- Relevant
performance documentation will be reviewed as needed.
Goal setting
- Goals are established based on assessment information.
- They
include client objectives.
- They align with organizational expectations
when applicable.
- They are measurable, actionable and observable
The work
- Coaching sessions are hour long bi-weekly meetings, either
face to face or via the telephone.
- The sessions provide opportunities
for the client to discuss issues and challenges they are facing and
to acquire new skills to address them.
- Fieldwork/homework is assigned for
practice of concepts and skills discussed in sessions.
- Clients are held
accountable for commitments to coaching preparation prior to sessions,
practicing between sessions, and achieving the agreed upon goals.
Evaluation and
follow up
- Coach and client evaluation of the coaching process is
conducted informally during each session.
- A formal evaluation is conducted
when the client and coach agree to close formal sessions.
- A follow up
check in session is scheduled within two months of last formal coaching
session
Reporting
We maintain the highest confidence with our clients
because we adhere to a strict code of confidentiality. Everything said
in our sessions is confidential so that the client is free to discuss
any issue. There are times when a supervisor may need to be apprised
of the client’s
progress. If so, the reporting criteria is agreed upon at the beginning
of the process so that the client understands what information will be
shared.
